We work in Nayagarh Block, Khandapada Block Nayagarh district in Orissa.

It is registered under the Society Registration Act -XXI of 1860. The registration number is 12 / 2373.

The people in our operational area do not have any health facilities. They mostly depend on village quacks who often exploit them. People in this area regularly suffer from malaria. The mortality rate due to brain malaria in infant and postpartum mothers is very high. Unfortunately, due to ignorance and illiteracy most of the people follow traditional preventive and curative methods, that do not work well.

SWARA has taken many steps to help them without any assistance from Government or any other agency. We have started:

• Health Education Programmes for mother and child care in 26 SHG's (Self Help Groups).
• Health Education Programme on Malaria and its control and prevention at 2 G.P. Of Khandapada Block. Several young people participate in this education camp.

Personnel available with the Organization
Currently SWARA has 9 core members who have different educational background and varying degrees of experience. Our team includes technical personnel like engineers and computer operators apart from doctor and a master craft man. We also have nearly 40 student and youth volunteers working in different programs.

Management
The Governing body consists of 9 experienced and committed people who meet to take policy decisions, suggest programme directions and support the programme management team in realising the organisational vision and Mission while achieving the objectives of the programmes.
